The dams make a difference!

Our broodmare band features well-bred, good riding mares with plenty of eye appeal and correct conformation. Their colts grow to make outstanding prospects for roping, ranch work, or all-around using horses. Our future broodmares are selected on the basis of sound conformation and movement, calm disposition, and performance and foundation pedigrees. Replacement fillies receive very little grain, if any, and develop naturally on a high quality, forage based diet. All fillies are started as two-year-olds and the decision is then made to place them in the breeding herd or to offer them for public sale. Replacements are pasture bred to foal as four or five year olds. The end result of this program is a consistent group of quality colts with the potential to excel. We offer an outstanding set of colts and fillies every year in which buyers can be confident.

You'll find information on each mare below, sorted by mare families.

Tee J Johnny Finger-Maternal Reference Sire

Sired by the World Champion Roping Horse GoldFingers and out of an own daughter of multiple World Champion Sire Jackie Bee, "John" represents the outstanding versatility of the Duane Walker program in KS.

GoldFingers originated from our friends at the R A Brown ranch, a historic Texas cattle & horse operation. They have successfully combined great foundation cow horses like Joe Hancock, Eddie & Blue Gold to create a program that has stood the test of time.

Tee J Johnny Finger's ability to produce great mares is evident from the maternal side of his pedigree. 3 L Jimmy Leo is an own daughter of AQHA Champion John Leo, whose sire is the foundation great Leo. 3 L's dam, Jimmy Diane, was also a successful producer and a full sister to Jackie Bee.

Tee J Johnny Finger daughters will continue to be a valuable commodity due to their gentle dispositions, cow, athletic ability, and producing power.

Red Mark Blanton (Heading) Maternal Reference Sire

Red Mark is the Senior Program Sire for Wyoming Blanton Enterprises of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming. This 1987 sorrel stallion won the 1990 Heading Futurity at the Wyoming State Fair, has placed in several reining futurities, and is an AQHA point earner. He has been to the United States Team Roping Finals several times and has also been to the pay window at National Barrel Horse Association events. He is a three-quarter brother to a gelding that qualified for the AQHA World Show in Team Penning in 1993. Additionally, he is the full brother to the stallion that won the Reining at the 1994 National Western Stock Show in Denver. Finally, he is currently Stuart Hoar's main heading and single steer roping horse, winning at both. Talk about performance! When you see this stallion firsthand, you have to be impressed by his massive stucture (15'2 hh, 1400+), cat-like quickness, and gentle demeanor.

Lucky Blanton was considered by many to be the greatest horse of his time-both in the arena and as a sire. Red Mark carries three crosses to this legendary sire, two on the papers & one just off. Red Mark daughters crossed on Blue Max Hancock will produce stout, heavy boned, sensible athletes.

McKeag Mares

Blue Lady McKeag
15 hh • 1100lbs • Blue Roan • This true blue roan mare is really keen headed and feminine. Great producer of athletic colts, plenty of speed!

  McKeag Dakota Belle
15 hh • 1100lbs • Grullo • This good grullo mare is a full sister to Froelich Ranch's junior herd sire, Blue Star McKeag. A two-year-old stud colt sired by Blue Star recently sold at the Triangle Mid-Winter sale in Oklahoma for $11,000. This grullo mare's dam is one of Froelich's best producing mares and combines the bloodlines of Mr Blackburn 41, Tuffernhel, and Wimpy.

McKeag Queen Jewel McKeag Queen Jewel
15 hh • 1150lbs • Bay Roan • This easy-keeping mare really produces stout colts. She is a dark bay roan that produces big boned roan colts when crossed with our stallion, Blue Max Hancock.

SF Lil April McKeag SF Lil April McKeag
15 hh • 1100lbs • Red Roan • This is Sheri's favorite mare -- and for good reason! She rides quiet and will really travel out. Like all the McKeags, she crossed extremely well with Blue Max Hancock producing good-looking roan colts with quiet dispositions.

Other Mares

 Miss Mizzouster
15 hh • 1100lbs • Buckskin • This buckskin mare is quickly becoming a top producer. She was bred and raised at the University of Missouri Horse Farm under the guidance of Dr. Wayne Loch who assured us that this is one of the best mares they have produced in his long tenure at MU. This mare produced the high selling weanling at 2002 Heartland Horse Breeders Sale. The colt was a fancy bay roan filly sired by Blue Max Hancock.

SF Skippa Doll
15'1 hh • 1175 lbs • Sorrel • This filly was our top pick of respected 50 year AQHA breeder Wayne Drydale's 2000 foal crop. Her sire is Wayne's new linebred Skipper W stallion, Honor Skippalark. This is the only mare in our broodmare band that has not been ridden and this has been due to an injury she incurred as a yearling. She travels well, however, and she should certainly produce good riding horses.
